New Diagnosis: Developmental Trauma Disorder

Right now many kids with complex trauma are not diagnosed (that is clear to us) because they don’t fall under the DSM requirements for PTSD and medical professionals are reluctant to diagnose RAD. This would encompass all of those children and also possibly eliminate many other diagnosis such as ODD, other conduct disorders, Bi Polar, possibly ADHD and others. Under the assumption that most of these disorders all stem from trauma. Basically this diagnosis would give our children and many others a voice so more services would be available.
